Freedom in Faith

Oh sister friend, your emotional freedom is not tied up in your physical circumstance!

So many times we see the reality in front of us and use that to judge what we see as possibility.

We see that our days are busy, that we have things that have to be done. We do not see time for self care or anything more than the responsibilities of life. And we can't imagine having the ability to change our life by simply changing our thoughts.

change our life by simply changing our thoughts.

But did you ever stop and think about how emotional freedom is not dictated by our circumstances?

The way we think, the words we speak, the actions we take, the breath we breathe, that is our life!

We can live beyond our circumstances. When a slave got saved, he wasn't told "you don't have to be a slave anymore". No, he was told to be the BEST slave!

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. Ephesians 6:5-8

Unfortunately we have been taught to believe that if we are going to have emotional freedom, it has to be all butterflies and roses. That we can have emotional freedom when all of our stars align and all of a sudden we stop being busy...

We still live in reality, BUT as we change the way we think our reality will begin to change to meet that expectation too.

I think about Paul who said that he learned to be content when he had plenty and when he had little. Contentment, freedom that saw beyond current circumstances.

Proverbs says that as a man thinks so is he. Jesus says that if we can believe that it will be ours. He also teaches that things in the Kingdom are backwards from earthy expectations; first will be last, give to your enemies, ignorant will shame the wise, weak will beat the strong.

Circumstances do not dictate our emotional freedom.

There is a freedom in faith that cannot be fully described with the words we have. There is also a spiritual enemy that wants to keep you from experiencing the fullness of what was given to you as a child of God.

That's why it is so important to link arms and find those who will encourage you and help you to walk away from the chains that trapped you before.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. - Galatians 5:1

I am thankful for this reminder. Satan has no hold on me! Hallelujah! Praise God!
