You’ve seen the movie, read the book, or heard the story:
A person faces a seemingly fatal blow—a challenge that feels insurmountable—only to rise again, stronger than ever. It’s the classic set-up for a powerful comeback.
But there’s another story, one with a similar arc, though the redemption isn’t earned through grit or luck. It’s given—freely, as a blessing.
The story of Job.
My children and I recently watched a sweet Bible story about Job, and I found myself reflecting on the parts of his journey that are often skipped over. Job endured immense loss, had a divine encounter with God, and then... he was restored—receiving double what he’d lost.
But what about the in-between?
Job still had to take action. He had to rebuild—tend his land, buy livestock, and sow crops. He had to trust God, even without guarantees of restoration. I imagine his progress came little by little: a calf born here, a harvest reaped there, one child, then another. And with each step, Job praised God, not just for the big blessings but for the small provisions along the way.
I’m not comparing myself to Job—I haven’t experienced loss on his scale. But I do understand the feeling of uncertainty and the challenge of trusting God to provide.
The Start of 2025: A $3,500 Loss
This year began with a $3,500 monthly revenue loss for my company. Like many, my business has felt the ripple effects of the current economy. Both clients who contributed to this loss remain in partnership with me—relationships are strong; the math simply changed.
When I first realized the impact, my instincts screamed to panic, to spiral into negative thinking, to let the weight crush me. But God is good, and His timing is perfect. Through His grace and lessons learned in previous seasons, I resisted.
There is a lot to the story that brought me to the place of resisting those negative thoughts. And maybe I'll share that in another post. But for time sake we will leave it as the resolution became this narrative about a set up. I’m choosing to see this moment not as the end, but as the set-up—a foundation for what’s coming next.
"All things for our good and his glory" is a motto that came from scripture and I have made part of my belief system.
Why I’m Sharing This Journey
Transparency comes naturally to me, but putting something like this out for the world to see? That’s different. Yet, I can’t ignore the conviction to share.
So here we are. I’ll document this journey—not to glorify the struggle but to glorify God. Along the way, I’ll share the steps I take, the work I do, and the results I see.
One thing I want to be clear about—both here and with my clients—I never promise results. I promise deliverables.
Not all my clients believe the same as me, but even non-christians tell you to release the outcome and "manifest" - seriously another piece of my story you're welcome to ask me about - because, "only God, who makes things grow."
Join Me in the Journey
If you’re facing your own setbacks or uncertainties, I invite you to walk this path with me. Together, let’s trust God to work things out for our good and His glory.
Here’s to the setup for something greater. Let’s see where God leads.
