Empowered Choices
A Common Theme
Lately I have been noticing a common theme in the women who I have had conversations with. There is this thing happening where many women are feeling a lack that is attached to their circumstances. People around you are treating you poorly, if they’re even noticing you at all. Circumstances seem to continue to stack against you. One thing after another comes up and stops you from the thing that you’re trying to get so that you can just keep your head above water. You may be trying to jut get through a season of life where the kids aren’t listening or the babies aren’t sleeping or your business is starting.
You’re Not Alone
There are so many of you who find yourself in moments just like that. I want to stop and take a moment and reassure you that you are not alone! You are not wrong. You are where you and if you are reading this, it is likely that you have a small amount of faith inside of you that is looking for an answer, and you have found yourself here.

Empowered Light
Girl, you have a light inside of you! Your Father has placed inside of you a knowing of who He is, a measure of faith, and the ability to make an empowered choice in any circumstance.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Romans 12:3 God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
We have the ability within us to make empowered choices regardless of our circumstances.
This doesn’t mean you become a selfish person who never considers anyone else, or that you throw your hands up in the air with the circumstances or people that are frustrating you.* This does mean that you can make your own choices about how you feel, what you think, and the best choice for you and your purpose inside of the circumstances.
* There are fundamental truths from the Word of God that Empowered Motherhood operates in and through.
Empowered Living
Empowered living isn’t constantly reacting to what is going on around you and happening to you. Empowered living is taking a moment, rooting yourself in alignment with God, then making a choice of how to respond and take actions that move you forward.
Empowered living is knowing that as you live fully surrendered to Jesus, God has given you Holy Spirit to fill you and help you make choices about your whole self, your whole life, everything that is you.
You can ask for the fullness of the Holy Spirit to work in and through you in every moment. The more surrendered you live, the more you will see Him at work in and through you. & I’m not telling you to pray in solitude for 12 hours a day. Discover His goodness and the fullness of His desire for you. Simply ask.
So now that we have that covered, I want to share with you a few Empowered Choices that you can begin making that will make a HUGE difference in your emotional freedom and daily living.
Empowered Choice 1
Rewrite the Truth
First uncover the truth of what you are feeling. These are the thoughts behind those emotions and the belief that is driving the thoughts. A quick moment of writing or thinking out loud will help tremendously. As you write or speak, keep going deeper and further into the thoughts that are rising. You will know when you’ve landed on the thing that is at the root.
Before you start, take a moment and surrender yourself to God. Your flesh will try to keep you from uncovering what is hiding in your belief system. This is the way you are wired, to hide from the fears, from the dangers that threaten your life. So surrender yourself to God, thank Him for creating you with an internal system that keeps you alive and protected. Now you are going to let God lead you into what may scare you and trust Him to protect you and show you.
Then decide what the truth is. What do you want to be the truth? Your desires, as you live, surrendered to Christ, are not going to be evil. God places desires on your heart and it’s okay to ask for them. Seek first, not seek only.
After you have discovered what you want the truth to be, choose which thoughts you can think, which emotions you can feel, and which actions you can take to make that the truth.
Empowered Choice 2
Manage Your Tasks, Not Your Time
Honey, just a quick reminder… You can’t manage time. It exists beyond you. You can, however, manage your tasks. Do that. Do that well. As you manage your tasks, you will find that you actually have more space in your day to make empowered choices, and thereby create your emotional freedom.

Set Up Your PAM
The knowledge that you have just acquired is fabulous. All of what you read in the pages of the Bible or every How To book on the planet can only do so much within you unless you begin to actually LIVE out what is being transformed inside of you.
